Located in northeast San Antonio, Terrell Heights is surrounded by among the most desirable neighborhoods in the city including Northwood, Oak Park, Alamo Heights and Terrell Hills. To the west, nearby destination shopping and dining in Alamo Heights and Lincoln Heights is sought out by people from across the city. The entire area is also anchored by one of the best public school districts in the country.
Just south of Terrell Heights, exciting things are beginning to happen along Austin Highway after years of neglect turned this once-famed corridor into a trouble-spot. Today, new retail and residential development are unfolding and the character of the street is looking up at a quick pace. The design standards put in place for new construction along Austin Highway are thanks in great part to efforts of the Terrell Heights Neighborhood Association whose leaders were instrumental in drafting the Overlay Design District Ordinance.
