Proposed Traffic Changes at Eisenhauer and Chevy Chase

Posted on Posted in Infrastructure

Councilman Gallagher’s office has been working with Transportation & Capital Improvements (formerly Public Works) to come up with some potential solutions to improve the flow of traffic around the Chevy Chase/Eisenhauer traffic island.

This effort by the Councilman’s office came about as a result of complaints calls to 311 from several residents in that area and to the Councilman’s office regarding traffic speeding around the traffic island, both entering and exiting Eisenhauer. Councilman Gallagher shared TCI’s proposed improvements with THNA, the details of which can be viewed on our website. Although TCI is not obligated to seek approval from neighborhoods before proceeding with any traffic projects it deems necessary, it is due to THNA’s good relationship with the Councilman’s office that THNA has been informed and was able to have some input.
