Each year the THNA Events committee organizes a holiday gathering that goes beyond the usual hot chocolate and gingerbread cookies to make a difference in the lives of countless youth throughout San Antonio through the Elf Louise Toy Drive.
While the toy drive is a huge success throughout San Antonio, it hold a special meaning for us here in Terrell Heights since Elf Louise herself, Louise Locker, lives in the neighborhood just down the street from where we host this event.
This year was a bit warmer than usual, the residents of Terrell Heights came out in full force to give to the community and by the time the event ended, the pick-up truck was filled to capacity with new toys and $100 in cash donations had been raised.
In addition to the toys, residents were able to enjoy making outdoor decorations that were for the birds (peanut butter covered pine cones dipped in bird seeds), stacking soda cans to use a target practice for snow balls made out of crushed ice, lots of delicious holiday treats and hot cocoa, and photos with the various inflatable decorations feature the reindeers and polar express.
Thanks to everyone from the THNA Events team for hosting a fun event, and to all the residents for making the holidays a little brighter for San Antonio.
